Hyaluronic Acid Injection Costs in Tokyo: Beyond the Syringe Price
Compare published Tokyo HA filler prices, added doctor fees, consultation charges and maintenance costs before accepting a treatment quote.
Published Tokyo examples list ¥44,000 for 1 mL of Neuramis and ¥84,700–¥88,000 for 1 mL of Juvéderm. These are advertised price lines—not a Tokyo-wide average or necessarily your final bill. The difference between the filler charge and the treatment total matters: SERA Beauty Clinic lists a separate ¥24,200 doctor’s fee. (PBC price menu, SERA price menu)
This guide covers cosmetic facial hyaluronic-acid (HA) fillers, not joint injections or skin-booster treatment courses. The useful comparison is the total for the proposed product, amount and treatment area, rather than the lowest “from” price.
Published Tokyo price examples
Prices below were checked on 29 October 2026. These are clinic-published examples, not endorsements. In these menus, 1 cc equals 1 mL.
| Clinic and product | Published 1 mL price | Additional charges or uncertainties |
|---|---|---|
| Personal Beauty Clinic (PBC): Neuramis, listed variants | ¥44,000 | The treatment page does not explicitly state tax treatment or itemize consultation and injection fees; request an inclusive quote. |
| Personal Beauty Clinic (PBC): Juvéderm Vista Voluma XC, Volift XC, Volbella XC or Volux XC | ¥88,000 | The same inclusion questions apply. |
| SERA Beauty Clinic: Juvéderm Voluma, Volift, Volbella or Volux, standard prices | ¥84,700, tax included | Adds ¥24,200, tax included, as a doctor’s fee: ¥108,900 before any consultation charge or other extras. |
Sources: PBC’s facial-filler menu and SERA’s services and prices. SERA separately lists lower trial-participant prices; confirm eligibility and conditions rather than treating those as the standard rate.
SERA also lists an initial consultation fee of ¥6,050 including tax. If that fee applies in addition to the filler and doctor’s fee, the first-visit arithmetic is ¥114,950. Ask whether it is payable separately or waived with treatment. That is why a ¥84,700 filler listing should not automatically become your appointment budget. (SERA consultation and injection fees)
Another fee structure appears on BIANCA’s English filler price page: listed Juvéderm charges are ¥89,000 including tax, with an additional ¥25,500 treatment fee and ¥2,600 needle fee per area. Those lines add to ¥117,100 for one listed filler charge and one area, but the page does not specify the volume beside the product price. Confirm the unit before comparing it with a 1 mL quote.
What changes the total?
Product and amount
“HA injection” is not a sufficiently specific product description. PBC’s menu lists different prices for Neuramis and Juvéderm, demonstrating that equal volume does not mean equal price. It also lists two 1 mL Juvéderm syringes at ¥149,600 rather than twice the single-syringe rate. A package discount changes the arithmetic; it does not establish how much filler you need. (PBC menu)
Ask the practitioner to separate volume proposed for injection from volume you must purchase. If less than 1 mL is planned, ask whether the clinic offers a partial-volume rate or charges for a whole syringe. Do not assume a half-volume treatment costs half as much; see our guide to half-syringe lip-filler quotes.
Product choice also needs a clinical explanation, not just a price comparison. Japan’s labeling for Juvéderm Vista Volite XC, for example, describes intradermal treatment— injection within the skin—for fine surface depressions and skin condition, and excludes lip use from its indication. A skin-quality treatment and a lip-volume plan should not be compared as equivalent purchases simply because both contain HA. (Japanese labeling held by PMDA)
Appointment and follow-up charges
Request a written quote answering these questions:
- What is the exact product name, purchased volume and planned injected volume?
- Is tax included? On Japanese menus, 税込 means tax included; 税別 means tax excluded.
- Are consultation, doctor/injection, needle or cannula, and anesthetic fees included?
- Does a fee apply once per visit, per syringe or per area?
- Are review visits included? Is additional filler at a review charged separately?
- If a discount applies, does it require photographs, publicity consent or another condition?
- What are the assessment and treatment charges if an adjustment is needed?
Budget for maintenance without assuming a schedule
Some fillers are absorbed over time, and maintaining the desired appearance may require repeat treatment. Duration depends on the filler material and injection area—not price alone. (FDA patient guidance)
For budgeting only, two sessions at a hypothetical unchanged ¥108,900 each would total ¥217,800, before consultation charges or extras. That is a spending scenario, not a recommendation to have treatment twice a year. Ask when reassessment is appropriate, whether another injection would actually be needed, and how the proposed amount might change. Our Juvéderm longevity guide explains why duration claims need product-and-area context.
Do not compare price without a safety plan
Before agreeing, ask who will inject, what experience they have with the proposed area, how the exact product is sourced, and whether its use is within its Japanese approved indication. Also ask how the clinic handles urgent complications and out-of-hours contact. Japanese Volite labeling specifically calls for knowledgeable physicians and preparedness for vascular complications, including rapid specialist care when needed. (PMDA-held labeling)
Unusual pain, vision changes, or white, gray or blue skin near the injection site during or shortly after filler require immediate medical attention—not a routine review appointment. Accidental injection into a blood vessel is uncommon but can cause tissue death, blindness or stroke. (FDA safety guidance)
